not sure about driving class..........lol, but live burns get my blood flowinfg or extrication classe, but I know what you mean:)
We just had the neatest driver training class it was a training program put on by the insurance company for the county. The had these driving simulators one was set up for ambulance and police service and the other was for fire and county personal it was set up like a truck. We drove threw a driving course then we got to drive to a fire scene in traffic it was really cool.
the best class i have been to so far is auto extrication and bus extrication. there is something about cutting up cars and busses i like.
It is good to be excited about training. It's when yuo consider it a chore, and your only there to silence the complaints that the issues truely arise. Train feverishly. It can and will save your life.
I love training its always fun to me evan when we go for hours on end but its for the good of us so training should never get dull
if it was extracation class i couldnt have slept
Depends on the claas nims was pretty dry i,iked the burn classes .
i couldnt agree more. i had an extrication class for 3 weeks on the weekend. i work midnight shift from 2230-0700. i went to class from 0800-1700 during class i wasnt the least bit tired. i did that praticall all three weekends. if i had to do it over again i would without even thinking twice.
during FF II we have weekend training. it was great becasue you not only got to train with the guys on your dept. but also surronding departments. since i work midnights at barnes hospital doing security. it depended on the previous night on if i was tired or not. if i was the minute i hit the training drounds it was like a burst of energey. but if i was tired you would be surprised how comfortable it is to lay on your turn out coat on rocks(unless you were on the PASS device) and how a helmet with the use of your structural fire fighting gloves makes a good pillow.

one time it was in the middle of summer with a good breese and and i fell asleep with my sunglasses on. talk about an intresting looking sunburn
Extrication class was good but when you get to exterior fires with the flammable liquid pit that is the one !!
Not really, I'd especially wouldn't get excited over a class I've already had, Sorry. I do like to train though, and believe you should train like it's the real thing..
