Are you talking about meeting that requirement before or after joining a VFD?

after you join you should have a certain amount of time set by your department to be 1403 compliant. there are alot of departments out there that send probes into a house or any other structure fire with little or no training at all. this could be a huge liability to the department.

Agreed, plus it should be a priority and not left to "when we remember or we're working on it". Training for rookies can be swept under the rug especially when there is only one and the time isn't made to deal with it. Smart Chiefs know.
