I was talking to another member today and she mentioned this to me, so I went to Jon's page and this is posted there:

HI TO ALL OF JONS FRIENDS. IT SADDENS ME TO INFORM YOU ALL OF HIS DEATH.HE DIED IN A HOUSE FIRE TRYING TO SAVE A CHILDS LIFE.IT'S STILL UNCLEAR TO WHAT HAPPENED BUT I'LL LET YOU ALL KNOW MORE AS I KNOW MORE

I would sure like to know more, but it saddens me that I had the honor and pleasure of exchanging ideas with Jon and before I could get to know him well, he has died in the line of duty.
My heart goes out to his family, friends, his fire department and his community.
It is a tragic loss.

We as firefighters all feel the loss when we lose one of our own. We are all brothers and sisters in this business and my heart and prayers goes out to the family of Jon.
On behalf of myself and my fellow firefighters from the Allison#2 Volunteer Fire Department we would like to extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and fellow firefighters and you all will be in our thoughts and prayers.

It is hard to lose a fellow brother. may he rest in peace. my heart felt condollences to his family.
From the short version of the story, it appears that Jon the most died heroic death. While trying to save a life is honorable, he gave his life trying to save a child. May he now rest in peace and continue to serve as a guardian angel. Prayers shall be with his family.

We will mention this on our 9AM ET live morning internet TV show on BlogTV.com and here on my page on Firefighternation.com. I am digging up the news story now and will share it with the audience. We routinely mention LODD on our show so the public has a greater appreciation for the fire service and the sacrifices given on a daily basis.

Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to his department and his family.
Thanks for posting this Art--I wasn't sure what to do with the info.
On behalf of the Firemen's Association of the State of New York, our deepest sympathies and prayers go to his family, friends, brothers in his department and all who knew him on this site. Please be safe out there.
I am trying to get confirmation/additional information.
I'll keep you posted.

I am really having a hard time obtaining information on this. Could someone please provide a link so we can help spread the word? Thank you.
I also searched newspaper sites in TN, KY and also VA, could find nothing.
I spent a good chunk of time on Google and did a boolean search and came up with zip--nothing for his department, not in his county...not in the state.
Anyone?
