I know that in the State of Indiana we used to have 24 hours worth of training that you had to do when you joined a fire department. What it consited of was training that added up to 24 hours. There was training on ladders, hose and nozzles, PPE, and other topics and you had to spend so many hours on each topic and together they would all add up to 24 hours and that is why it was named that. But the state just went away from that I think about 2 or 3 years ago and now we have to do training that is called Mandatory training and it is about 40 hours worth of training. I hope that this helps you and if you have anymore questions you can send a comment to my page if you want.
Well I just looked at your page and I see that you are from Indiana also so what they are calling the 24 hours is probably going to be the Mandatory but they are calling it the old name.
