I did an internet class yesterday at the fire station on PPA (positve pressure attac). I have been around the fire service for many years and alot of this class goes agianst everything I have learned over the years. I would love to implement what I learned but I would like to know if anybody is activly using PPA and how is it working for you.

i watched the same training on fire enginerring.com was very interesting. when we finally get our pp fan in i'm going to have the fire fighters start training with it.
We have been using the PPV fan for years but like they showed yesterday.
I have been around for 20 years, and I have learned, and used ppv at fires and think it is highly dangerous if not used correctly. Most fires dont even fit the MO for PPV use...Last I checked, and please correct me if Im wrong, you need total control of all openings in order for PPV to be effective and not spread the fire to the rest of the buiding. Now you have 2 or 3 firefighters running around popping out windows while the PPV is going, and the fire will seek out the opening, even the one that the attack crew is near, severely burning them in the process. I like using it to clear smoke from the building after the fire, and MAYBE in the Incipient stage of the fire, if you can catch it there and only vent the window in the fire room, this keeps the heat and steam from bothering the attack crew. I have mixed feelings on PPV and PPA, I guess like all new tactics its going to take some time and training! lol

What was the training you saw? Who put it on and where can I see it? Sounds interesting.
Good Post!

Stay Safe out there.
