I like to believe that when a Firefighter passes his spirit just moves to another and carries on,Thus the phrase Born from Fire.This is not a job so to speak this a calling,this thing that we call the JOB chooses us.That is why so many come and go,they simply were not chosen to be here.Each one of us has a gift of one sort or another in this field some are truckies,engineers,hose jocks,rescue or ems the list goes on and on.I think you get the point or you likely wouldn't be reading this to start with.It is a sad day when we lose a brother or sister,it happens we learn from it and correct the things that cause it to happen,but there is always going to be that risk involved.That is what separates us from the masses.We are the few that answer the call day or night in any weather no matter what is going on in our lives we make the time to help our fellows in their darkest hour.Be PROUD of who you are and what you do.Uphold the TRADITIONS and VALUES that those before us made that ultimate sacrifice to preserve.Training,training and more training is the only thing we have to make this JOB we do safer for all.Remember everyday is training day,EVERYONE GOES HOME.Godbless,Godspeed

WE SHOULD NOT FORGET OUR BROTHERS AND SISTER WHO ANSWERED THEIR LAST CALL OR THE FAMILIES LEFT BEHIND IVE NOTICED BY READING ARTICLES ITS HARD FOR OUR LOVED ONES AFTER WERE GONE SO PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE INSURANCE AND A WILL TO MANY OF OUR FAMILIES ARE WAITING IN LINE FOR THE DEATH BENEFIT ONLY TO BE GETTING TURNED DOWN

everyday we loose one of our brothers and sisters in the line of duty. but we all know the risks when we signed up. but hopefully we all watch each others backs and help each other out when they need it. may we never forget the fallen in past and future.

It is with great distress that I am posting this announcement.... Today, 9/26/2007, two of our fellow firefighters lost their lives in the line of duty. Their names were Brian Murray, 46, and Mark O'Shangnessy, 25 of Wicklow, Irealnd. It has been undetermined as to what the cause of their deaths were at this moment. They were involved in a call at a factory. Found 20 yards from the exit, with empty air tanks. It is believed( though not determined) that they suffocated after running out of air. There was no radio traffic known at this time. May we honor the service that they gave, and put their families and friends in our prayers. It is never easy to hear of the loss of one of our fellow firefighters, and it is devastating to those who are even closer to them. I can only hope for peace and comfort for all that are affected, and for the lessons that will be learned to not be forgotten. May they rest in peace, having served such a noble purpose, and for dying doing what they surely loved and believed in...

You are so right. We should always remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. This job has inherint dangers. And we should train to avoid as man of the dangers as we can. Do not depend our government to take care of us. Make sure your family is well protected.
I would not trade this job for anything else. I am a third generation firefighter. While I have no death wish. I am at peace with my self. I have alaways been a good husband, good father and a good firefighter. If it is my calling that I shall die in order to save another life, I could not think of a more honorable way to die. I have nothing but pride about what I do for a living.
The only wish that I have is that we never loose another life in vain. Remember to buckle up, eat right, exercise and make good decisions. I wish each and every one of you a long and prosperous career. I hope you stay safe.
