Well I haven't really logged on here in a while and figured I'd give you all an update as to what's been going on. I suppose the first thing to get out of the way is work, work, work! I'm always working, (probably one of the reason why I haven't been on here in a while.) but I guess it's good since it keeps me out of trouble.

I took my Haz-Mat refresher for the year a couple weeks ago. What can I say different year.. same stuff. But it's always nice to to have Baigis as the instructor. Gotta love those little videos he shows.

The PA Expo was a couple weeks ago. I went down on Friday... had lots of fun. Oh if anyone was down there and went through the Heart Healthy FF stand where they check your blood sugar, blood pressure, cholestorol, etc and got back readings that just don't seem right.. don't freak out. Have it checked with your regular doctor. My boyfriend went through it and they said his total chol. was 1520. Since that is almost impossible he had his doctor check it and it was really somewhere around 160.

At the end of April Station 70 here in Berwick lost their long time member, friend, and chief. It was a huge loss for the station. He did so much.. that not many of us realized. We are just now realizing all the work he actually did for us and attempting to straighten things out. The line officers now have alot of extra work to do in taking on all the work he did. They are doing a wonderful job with it though. The borough has decided that out of respect for Wesley and the position they are not naming a new chief for Station 70 for the remainder of the year. We had his memorial service at Station 70 and everything went very well. A huge thanks to all who helped out with the services. (The companies who came for the procession: Eagles, West Berwick, Rangers, Reliance, Nescopeck, Summerhill, Orangeville, Benton, and anyone I might be forgetting. Reliance and Bloomsburg Fire Dept for setting up the arch with the flag over Rt. 11. Rangers for taking the role of colorguard for the day. The ladies at West Berwick for the meal that followed the services. Ben Mike for making all the potatoe salad. And everyone who attended.) He is greatly missed by all in the Berwick Fire Dept. and all those who knew him around the area.

On another note I think I'm going to start my driver training on the Air Unit sometime soon. I figure I'll start out with the small piece and work my way up to driving the engine.

I have recently noticed a pattern with calls in the Berwick Fire Dept. It seems that whenever Berwick's Truck 121 calls out of service and places Blooms' Truck on automatic dispatch there is always some kind of call in Berwick. Most of the time Bloomsburg gets cancelled though. And then when Berwick's ladder calls back in service we always seem to have another call of some sort. Might not be for a working structure fire.. but 9 times out of 10 there is a call. Whatever the case is with the calls we always enjoy calling Bloomsburg out to join the party.

Oh yeah, some members of Station 70 finally got their new gear. It's the Globe Reaxtion gear... with the new Globe Strutural boots. I love it. Very lightweight compared to the old gear I had been wearing. The boots are awesome. They feel like sneakers.. I can't even tell that I'm acutally wearing structural boots when I have them on.

Well I think that's all for now. I have to start getting ready for work in a little while. I'll catch up with everyone later. Hopefully it won't be quite so long until my nest log in.
