Ok.... I signed up to find new friends in an occupation that I have so much honor for. I was watching a video on this site about firefighter strength and how it's like no other strength. I believe that to be very very wholeheartedly.. true. Anyways, to make myself clear, I am not a firefighter, ems person, etc. My situation is just helping as a volunteer whenever and whereever needed in my local city. WFD has some awesome people who volunteer their time constantly so I figured why not help by volunteering with them. We definitely had a rough year losing one of our bests ~ John Keane in a tragic accident when two firetrucks collided. That was hell. Anyways one day I called locally to see what I can contribute and well nothing was in place to help our local heroes. If I wanted to visit a prison inmate well that could be set up!!!! wtf? anyways, not that prison inmates aren't people too, but that left me a bit disappointed. What about the men and women running into the dangerous fires while everyone is running out???? Instead of giving up I decided to try to do my part as little as it probably is. Projects like tip a firefighter night was fun at Chilli's when we helped raise money for St. Judes Childrens hospital. My latest was baking over 2000 cookies and handing out them on Christmas day for every firehouse, engine, truck, battalion, hq, etc. in my city. It was fun except for the news crew that followed me around =(. Ewww hated that part! Anyways, I don't know , I don't have a crystal ball, and I honestly don't want one because I love not knowing whats ahead around the corner , at that very next turn. Stay safe ya'lll and don't pick on me when I say fajitas or fixins (you know who you are Aussie j/k lol). Even though I'm damn proud of being a damn Yankee, born and raised in CT, but I swear there is sometimes a little southern bell inside me crying to get out..... I love you my brothers and sisters! Take care and Stay safe!!! Passionately Praying for every single one of you!!
