- Why I Joined Fire/EMS
- When I was 19 I joined the Navy as a Electricians Mate. Little did I know, that being an Electricians Mate was going to involve being a fireman also. I hated fire, and was apprehensive about being one of the first ones running into a burned out compartment on board a ship, but once I started the training and got my hands on the hose and "put the WET stuff on the HOT stuff"....Everything changed. This is what I love.
