Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I initially started in emergency services as something to do with my dad, I got bit by the bug and have been doing it since. I got my EMT-Basic when I was 18 and got my Paramedic at 19. I love being a Paramedic and making a difference, although I hate the BS calls sometimes.

Top Issues Facing Responders:
Lack of understanding by the public as to what we do. Lack of funding for volunteer agencies.
Well, the 4th of July weekend is over, and amazingly enough, we did not have to make a response to Desoto Falls to pull someone out. Normally, on the 4th of July weekend we have to respond to the Falls to pull out someone who decides they want to jump the 70 feet to impress their friends. We all know the ones who do it, their famous last words, "Hey ya'll watch this!"
