About Me:

I am now disabled due to lupus and fibromyalgia. I flew for NJ's first flight team in 1988 (NorthStar). I rode as MICN with UMDNJ EMS. Would still be flying if it wasn't for lupus.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I loved the autonomy that EMS gave me as an RN- nothing I could have done in a hospital setting. I enjoyed working with Fire/EMS on scenes.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

I could do so much more than a regular, hospital RN could.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

Safety, politics (whose area are we in?). Making sure that 1st responders get credit where credit is due- the flight team often got the glory after the 1st responders did most of the work.
