Rodney Beale replied to Just Plain Craig Moyer's discussion Pay for pay, even if we burn it down
"I think that you all need to have a long hard look at the provision of fire services to all of the country. Why is there no universal coverage? Surely some work could be done to provide fire coverage in those areas that have none, e.g. a self help…"

Rodney Beale replied to Brent Lytle's discussion "New" Quick Attack Truck for Our Department. Now What Should We Fill It With?
"Just a little comment from down under - weight?  You state that you have a one ton truck with 300 gallon tank, and if my conversion is correct 1 US Gallon = 4 Litres = tank capacity of  1200 Litres = 1.2 Ton weight, plus pump plus gear,…"

Top Issues Facing Responders:
Economic impact on Volunteers, limits ability to turn out. i.e. turn out and lose your job! This especially impacts on daytime turnouts.
The baby boomers - a volunteer generation, now we are on the way out and the next generation(s) need to replace us, this is of major concern and training and appropriate experience is of extreme importance.
