Cairns Leather Helmet

Started May 19, 2014 0 Replies

Does anyone know how I can track down when my helmet was manufactured. It is an original leather cairns, I purchased it several years back from a collectors estate sale. The model number is 514.

About Me:
I started my career in California, where I was born and raised. I worked as a Wildland firefighter for the U.S Forest Service then moved on to my local Dept. Starting as a Volunteer. I was put through academy at which time I also earned my EMT-Basic at Modesto Junior College. I was offered a Part-Time Firefighter/EMT Position upon graduating academy. I worked as a basic for 4 years then moved on to Paramedic, at which time I was upgraded to FF/Paramedic. I also was working Ambulance in San Joaquin, Sacramento, NorCal, and received my L.A. county Paramedic Cert. I progressed in rank to FTO, Preceptor, Supervisor then Oprerations Manager over my own 911 Division in Southeast Texas. I worked as medic in Texas for a year and decided I needed a change and challenge. I went to Iraq during the war and worked on a contract in support of the U.S. army as a Remote Duty Paramedic. I remained on contract for 2 1/2 years. I have been a member of my current Dept. Since 2006, I have earned my advanced structural firefighter in Texas. I am currently involved with raising funds to help my dept. replace some aging apparatus.
