I grew up in the Delaware Volunteer Fire Service.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

Training comes first to mind. In a state that offers a state funded fire school, but with every volunteer department being completely independent of the state, training standards struggle. I would like to see the delaware fire service come together for the common good of reducing LODD's and increasing the efficiency of fireground ops, and agree on some kind of training standards. I would also like to see the volunteer fire service adopt new technologies to give the first responding apparatus every advantage possible.
