FF1, FF2, Rescue classes, former EMT plus general in house training.
Continuous training at our local training facilities.
Worked my way through company ranks, asst. captain and then captain.
Later on became a warden, basically the same as a commisoner.
Now I have become a dispatcher during an alarm at our fire house.
That's about it.
About Me:
Originally joined the fire department and did 21 years and then went honorary. I couldn't stand to hear the siren without going so I rejoined May of 2001 just in time to spend time at the WTC. Spent alot of time there doing whatever I could help out with. Then also raised monies for the Widow and Childrens Fund. Was able to take part of the closing ceremonies by carrying on of 343 American flags. It was one hell of an honor.
I need a few more points before the year is up...Kidding. I have enough..I would like to pack up one more time before the year is up. Maybe we can have a call when i'm in the harbor...
To all my friends in Firefighter nation. I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving....As we all sit down for dinner lets have a moment of silence for all those that have answered their last alarm. Also remember our troops that are not here right now and that can't be home. We also must remember those that are not coming home. God Bless America.
Hey Ray, I am originally from Northport. I saw your add and figured I would say hey. My father served 30 years in Northport, and I served 4 before moving upstate NY. Stay safe, look forward to chatting with you and keeping up on Long Island news!
