Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I am a second generation firefighter on the Pompton Lakes fire department. My father has been a fireman for over 35 years in Engine Co. 1 working his way thru the ranks from Lt. 1, Capt. , then too Assistant Chief. For my whole life i have been around this firehouse and when I turned 18 I was at the station application in hand. Following in my fathers foot steps I joined Engine Co.1. I have now worked my way thru the ranks and became 2nd Lt. and then a year later became Capt. 1 which i held for my full 3 year term. I am currently the Department Rescue Captain and RIT Team leader.
