About Me:
I am a NYS transplant to NC. Started in EMS as an EMT-Basic (NY) in 1977 recertified in NC 2004. Served as an auxiliary police officer in 1981 (NY). Became a FF in 2005 (NC). Participate in raptor rescue (Bird rescue/EMS), horse, cat and dog sports/rescue. Hike, walk, garden, car sports, domestic arts...I do it all.
I joined my local ambulance corps when I turned 18 because of my experience with them. When I was 17, Corps members responded in an unsuccessful attempt to resuscitate my mother, who was experiencing a myocardial infarct. I was driven to return in kind, and to prevent another family from going through the loss that I had. To date, that is still my motivation- circumvent tragedy, and comfort the survivors.
