About Me:

I work hard to always learn something from every step of life. I work for the county highway department. I love being a volunteer fire fighter. I wanted to explore a career in the fire service, but my wife and I decided to have a family here in my hometown instead. I have no regets with the decision. We have a wounderful little three year old baby girl.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

A friend and I were playing play staion and his father, a life long member of the department, came home with two application's. And I quote " you boys need a hobby " The rest is history.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

In this area, I feel the biggest issue facing the volunteer fire dept. is that most departments have an ambulance. My dept. does not have one. We use a paid staffed service avaible from a local hospital. When our dept. gets banged out to every thing from your basic bandaide calls to a bad car crash, I know that we will only be out for a half hour or so. All these dept's with riggs have the same half an hour, plus the time to and from the hospital. I feel it puts a huge strain on the members.
