About Me:
I'm Jay. I am currently a Senior FF (career) on B shift at SSES. I rotate between driver/operator of our first out engine or as backseat FF, and our Rescue. I have been a combat medic for 7 years, with a deployment to Iraq attached to route clearance (IED Hunters) and am currently a trauma specialist. I am also a volunteer at a neighboring mutual aid department (BES) and member of the county LSAR team. I enjoy the rescue side more so than the hose line, and if ever I have my choice, you'll find me there. I believe there are ever changing issues in our field, and hope to be part of progress within my department, and the service as a whole so others will benefit from my lessons learned, mistakes, and successes. I believe leadership comes from the front, yet understand that it must maintain the big picture.
