I began volunteering two years ago after moving to a Community that had a Volunteer Department. My interest in the Fire Service began many years ago when I was hanging around my Home Town Fire Department as a teenager. I have a wife who I have been with for 17 years and twin daughters who are five years old going on 10.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I started out being interested in the Fire Service back in my younger years, hanging around the local VFD and it influenced me greatly. After several years of living where there were no Volunteer Departments and successfully building a Business that ultimately was killed by the Economy, I moved to a small rural town, back to my roots and signed up to risk my life for free!
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Being able to help people in a way that only a few can!
Top Issues Facing Responders:
In my opinion, there should be no Volunteers, everyone should be paid! There is no real reason, other than money, that every city shouldn't have a paid Fire Service. There are very few, if any, Volunteer Law Enforcement agents and there should be very few, if any, Firefighters who are not compensated for their risks.
