Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I joined Fire/EMS for the overwhelming desire to do something different that gives back to a community. I've been in the Armed Forces (USMC, Semper FI) for the past 6 years (with 2 to go) and my primary job is taking lives.... I'd rather be saving them. Plus there is that weird desire to run into burning structures....
