Started with the volunteer service of Marion County Florida in 1975, trained volunteers 1978 - 1989 and assisted with the start up of a department 1981. Managed a small rural private EMS service for several years.
My Training:
EMT, Paramedic, Florida Fire Standards, Fire Service instructor, Florida Certified MPO, Florida Law Enforcement Standards, Multiple Fire Service management classes, Hale pump certified, High angle rescue/rigging (old certification, just not new papers). Versed in Building construction, retired Master Electrician, Versed in all aspects of vehicle operation and maintenance.
About Me:
Currently 61, married to a wonderful woman (second time around) 2 children of my own and 2 from my wife. 4 wonderful grand-children (One boy from my son, and two girl and a boy from my wifes daughter)
Looking to retire and explore the part of the world I haven't had the priviledge seeing yet.

Public support, funding, and the biggest of all teaching the new kids that it isn't all glamour and praise. Treat everything you touch or come in contact with as if it were your own. You have to earn the public"s respect and you can lose it with one stupid idiotic act.

I would like to see if there is anyone out there who feels that we just aren't getting the message out about response habits. Wether in our private vehicle or in a department vehicle why is it that all common sense seems to just disappear when people get behind the wheel to respond to a conceved emergency.
