As a rookie we trained for one year every Sunday at our fire hall. Also, full dept. training is every other week for 2 hours on Tuesday evenings. We also do extra training at fire colleges when there is courses offered to our dept.

In my day job im in several houses in our area which helps when a rescue is needed and security systems have smoke and co detectors installed quite often.
