Why I Joined Fire/EMS
My dad was a life long volunteer firefighter serving for over 35 years. It felt right to follow his path and serve my community. Once you start it gets in your blood and I suppose it is as hard to give up as drugs or cigarettes. I love my community and my fellow firefighters and want to do everything possible to serve them.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Service to others.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
I believe we have two key issues that the largest majority of volunteer departments are facing. First and foremost is achieving a sufficient level of funding for fire service. Our equally important top issue is recruiting and retaining quality volunteers in today's economy.
