About Me:: I run as an EMT for Fraley Ambulance Service CO-76. I also help out Moorefield Volunteer Fire Department CO-46 with things they do... I'm kind of like they're extra set of hands and a stress release. I have been around the system for 15 years once my dad started. Once of age I took First Responder training and then took EMT-B training. I also got closer to the Fire side of things when I started dating a couple Firefighter-EMTs...and currently still seeing one. Want to know anything else... let me know.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: My dad started in on it about 15 years ago after his sister passed away. A year later he started taking me with him to classes he helped teach and they used me (and still do) as the hands-on patient. I am now known as the "Professional Patient" for our squad.

Why I Love Fire/EMS: seeing the face of someone you helped weeks later and getting a Thank You from them

Top Issues Facing Responders:: the increasing amount of calls in our area due to the addition of Corridor-H and the fact that the idea of volunteering is a decreasing idea in most people. People don't want to do something where they're not going to get anything (usually money) out of the deal for them. So the one issue I'm seeing is the decreasing number of volunteer members on squads and departments.

The Nickname

I know my Nickname looks kind of bad but I was actually given that name by a few people. The full name is the Adrenaline Junkie. My parents and a bunch of my colleagues gave me that nickname because I get so excited so fast about calls. Whether the calls are big or even small... when the tones drop my pulse sky rockets. I love the rush I get from this job... I always have even when my dad first got started and before I really officially got certified in anything!
