Annette:

EXACTLY!!! I'm in the middel of an EMT class and this group is so far behind. The continual comment is that it's too hard. Started class with 21 students and have 15 left. Only on Module 3. 5 years ago, the scores would have been 25% higher and we would be much further along. The class admits that they don't read their chapters and they make no excuses -"I'm too busy..." - What's the deal? Thinkng about not teaching anymore.

Oh c'mon now....I KNOW you guys aren't the "quiet group"! Do you see the type of student changing over the last few years? I'm feeling alot more.....I guess its emotional immaturity maybe? Lack of responsibility for their actions....they all seem to walk around like the world owes them something. I don't know about you guys but I was scared to death. I was raised under the "Get the tube, get the line, or get out" type of instruction. Which isn't neccessarily right but I'm wondering if we cut our own throats by trying to be "kinder and gentler"......anybody else feelin' this?
