Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
HAVE BEEN WITH THE FFD THE WHOLE TIME.
My Training:
EMT BASIC,
OTHER SMALL CLASSES HERE AND THERE
About Me:
I STARTED OUT IN JUST FIRE, AFTER TALKING TO OTHERS IN THE DEPARTMENT I BEGAN TO BECOME INTERESTED IN THE EMS PORTION OF OUR DEPARTMENT. I WENT FOR MY EMT AND THEN GOT A JOB AS A PAID EMT IN ANOTHER TOWN. I AM CURRENTLY THE EMS CAPTAIN FOR THE FFD. I WOULD STILL RIDE FIRE IF I HAD THE TIME AND PROPER TRAINING, BUT EMS HAS SORT OF CONSUMED MY LIFE AT THIS POINT.
Day Job:
PAID EMT
Relationship Status:
In a Relationship
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I JOINED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT BECAUSE MY CURRENT CHIEF USED TO BE MY BUS DRIVER IN HIGH SCHOOL, HE TALKED ME INTO JOINING AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. IT WAS THE BEST CHOICE I EVER MADE AND I WOULDNT CHANGE IT FOR ANYTHING......THANKS BILL
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I HAVE TO SAY THE THING I LOVE THE MOST IS THE RELATIONSHIPS I HAVE GAINED WITH MY FELLOW FFD MEMBERS, THE FRIENDSHIPS AND SUPPORT IS UNMATCHABLE. MY COMMUNITY ALSO MEANS ALOT TO ME AND ITS GREAT TO BE ABLE TO BE A PART OF SOMETHING THAT LETS ME GIVE BACK.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
THE BIGGEST ISSUE I SEE IS THE LACK OF VOLUNTEERS THESE DAYS, PEOPLE JUST DONT HAVE THE TIME OR THE DRIVE ANYMORE!! .......EVEN ALOT OF THOSE WHO DO VOLUNTEER THIER TIME, THE DEDICATION IS JUST NOT WHERE IT SHOULD BE. I AM SURE EVERY DEPARTMENT HAS THAT GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE THERE DOING EVERYTHING, WHILE OTHERS COME AROUND WHEN ITS GOOD FOR THEM. I THINK THAT IS THE BIGGEST AND MOST FRUSTRATING PROBLEM!
