Why I Joined Fire/EMS
When I was a kid, I heard the old fire siren go off, and then I saw my dad and come home with soot and ash from the calls they went on. I heard the stories of the calls, and I always wanted to go with them, be part of the fire department/ems, but I was too young to even be a sparky in the group. As it stands, my dad is too old to run, and my brother gave up the fire and ems to spend more time with his family. Now that I have joined the fire department alone, lol, I'm now the 5th generation fire fighter in my family. I'm only probey going through training now, but i'm willing to take any advice that I can find in this network.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I feel free, I feel wanted, I want to save lives, even if it means risking my life to save another.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Lack of calls for the departments, funding for organizations.

Andrew, welcome to the FF Nation. I am glad you dropped in to join the group. Dont be shy. There is lots to do, read and be involved with. Your participation and involvement is important to us all. Takes a bit to kinda figure it all out but you will be glad you did. Have fun and look around.
