I always wanted to do something to help people,military was a option but then discovered the fire service,Since 2005 I have ben training and going to school for fire technology and fire service, I'm a paid-call firefighter and part time prevention specialist,.

    Would that mean Victorville would be providing the fire protection for Barstow? If so, would they be running out of your station? In any case, I hope the fight is won on your side. Best of luck to you and your department in that endeavor.

    served at Irwin in the Army, I would love to go there as a firefighter, but once my service was up after Iraq, I came home. It was an easy transition from the Ar,y to firefighting with the rank structure, discipline, training and brotherhood, it only seemed natural. Our department is all volunteer which definately has it's ups and downs, but I love it. One thing that I have noticed is that all of the buildings here are alot older in construction and style which I am sure presents a whole different style of operation and procedure, but amounts to the same thing, vent the structure and put the wet stuff on the red stuff.

    Hey man, checking back to see how things are going on the west coast. It didn't dawn on me until right now that your apparatus is 361. Oddly enough, our department has engine 361. Anyway, Stay safe.
