About Me:
Hello there, My name is Ian, i'm a 22 Year old career firefighter/EMT-B with the Burlington Fire Protection District (located in central Boone County KY).I am currently attending Cincinnati State Technical College for an associates degree in Fire Service Technnology.
I love music, more than anything (except firefighting). I play bass guitar and guitar, i'm in a deathmetal/hardcore band where i play lead guitar. The heavier the music the better.
My father is the Asst. Chief in the district i started in, so i grew up loving the fire service, as a way to pay for college i joined our department's scholarship program, and got hooked.
Now i'm a full time Firefighter/EMT at the Burlington Fire Protection District, doing all i can to prepare myself to move forward with my career.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Its the biggest high at its best even though it can be the lowest low at its worst
Top Issues Facing Responders:
PPE. We trust it WAY too much, and it has evolved too far.
Things are pretty busy....got a full time spot about 2 towns over and have been going through their academy. They will be opening station 4 in the early fall which is the reason for the staffing increase. Other than non-academy stuff, things are pretty good, cant wait to take a vacation tho....lol.
