About Me:
I became a paramedic to become a firefighter. When I joined the Richmond Vol. Fire Dept. as a firefighter, they sent me to EMT school because they needed EMT's for their ambulance. I got biten by the EMS bug and fell in love with the profession. I noticed that the fire services in Massachusetts where hiring paramedics to run their EMS. When I got laidoff from my HVAC job, I figure I would put both of my passions togerther and become a paramedic. After taking the Civil Service test I got offered a position in Agawam. Best thing I ever did was take the job.
I my spare time I love to be with my wife and three boys. Don'y care what we are doing, family time is priceless.
Relationship Status:
Married
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
My brother was a Lietenant on the voluteer service in my home town. I knew most of the firefighters as my coaches and faters of friend. They asked me to join due to the low membership. I figured, what the heck why not. Then fell in love with the profession.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I get to play with big matchbox trucks...LOL

People who don't know what we do, get a false impression of us just sitting arround waiting for the calls. They really need to know how much training and dadication go into the job.

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - Two people are homeless and left with nothing after a fast moving fire destroys their home in agawam.

Flames were shooting out of 80 Pheasant Hill Road when fire crews arrived around 6:15.

Agawam Deputy Fire Chief Steve Martin told 22News the fire started after a resident was cooking breakfast on the stove.

He accidentally turned on the wrong burner. That burner had a pan on it with food in it which overheated and caught fire.
