Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I married into the fire service but after losing my husband in a helicopter crash in 2005, I now work with the U.S. Forest Service and the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. I speak at conferences and meetings telling firefighters and their families how to prepare in case a fatality should occur. I am passionate about helping other families who are going through what I went through.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
It keeps me connected with the fire community that my husband loved so much.

I never got to work with your husband that I know of, but still heard about his great reputation and respect around the FS. I am sorry for your loss, and wish to thank you for working with the Foundation and the Association to further the benifits to the generations of Firefighters to come behind your husband...

Thanks for adding me a friend Lori. I knew of your husband but, I never got to work with him. I have lost a lot of good friends in this business, but I love it to much to leave. Once a fire pirate... Always a fire pirate!

Sorrry it been so long to reply.
its been real slow here with all the rain. thought we where going to have a real hot summer but the rains came and put that to a end. now its hurricaine season and who knows might have to go work one of these. I hope to get out west this year. need to get out as Divs trainee to finish up the national cert. for my red card. then start my safety officer tast book. hope evryone safe and not getting to many of those fires you guys get. take care and see you around. let you know if I get over your way. came close two years ago with the trip to Idaho.
