My Training:
I am FF1 certified and working on FF2 and fire officer. I am a certified vehicle rescue tech, open water diver, and awareness level haz mat. I look forward to getting more training to better serve my department as well as my guys.
About Me:
I am married to an amazing woman, Theresa. I have been on this dept for 10 years and absolutly love this job. I have been in the military for 15 years and have 1 deployment under my belt. I would like to become a career firefighter someday, but I am not really focusing on that to hard. I am a captain on my dept. and love the challenges that brings. I just want my department, my guys and myself to be "all that we can be" not just professionally but in our private lives as well.
Day Job:
Tracked vehicle repairer for Department of defense
Relationship Status:
Married
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
To give something back to the community. As a kid who didn't want to become a fireman?
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Getting to give back to others in need!
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Not sure for the whole job, but for me and my guys it would have to be training. Not just the money but the time to do it. Most of my department have little ones at home and I am a strong advocate of taking care of home life first. I don't need a guy who is thinking about home problems instead of focusing on the job. Thats how people get hurt.
