Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, AL:
We are the nation's premier all-hazards training center. If you are a state, local, or tribal government emergency responder, this training is completely funded by DHS at no cost to you or your jurisdiction. We fly you into Atlanta airport, pick you up, transport you to the CDP, and provide all meals and lodging.
jessica, great pics ,,,, welcome to the family ,,,, it's a fun site & does have some interesting blog discussions ,,,, i also like seeing how other departments do the same thing but also like looking at different styled apparatus's used all over the world ,,,, i'm a crash firefighter and we have some of the weirdest ,,,, look at my pics to see some past and present day pieces ,,,, word to the wise, if you trade patches be careful, there are a few people here that just want to get one then not send one back ,,,, i won't mail anything now till i have something in hand ,,,, my goal now is not to get a patch from you i do not collect them ,,,, (but i will trade duty tee-shirts from far away countries and that's how i got "BURNED", i sent the sleaze a tee-shirt & 3 patches and got nothing back ...) i'm just watch-n your back, something most of us on the job understand, it's a big part of what the brotherhood and the family is all about ,,,, if you wanna add me as a friend, great ,,,, if not, that too is OK because this message is intended to mostly welcome but also warn you too ,,,, like in the fire service, not all things are as they appear ,,,,
what we do makes a difference, be safe, god bless and smile a lot, it will piss someone off lmao :) :) ,,,,
lucky
thanks for the add i don't take them lightly ,,,, but now your gonna have to write once in awhile to fill me in on what's going on, it also helps me remember who you are lmao :-D ,,,, write about anything, life, the man, kids/pets, the job or even a good joke, nothing like exchanging e-mails with friends when it's slow here at the station or when i'm just chilling at home ,,,,
C-ya, be safe and god bless
ron
Hi Jessica. Thanks for the add, welcome to FFN! I noticed you're from Anniston, Alabama. I remember spending a lot of time there when I was stationed at Ft. McClellan. What a small world. Stay safe!
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you are enjoying FFN so far. While you are online, feel free to come check out my blog, Firehouse Zen, which actually originated here on FFN and is now hosted by FireEMSblogs.com And if you are a Facebook member, we'd love to have you "like" us there as well.
Jessica, I am certainly honored that you and I can be friends. I enjoy FFN very much and I'm always learning something. I can see I shall be learning a great deal from you. Hope to meet you in person some day. Merry Christmas!
Jessica:
Thanks for the add.
You have my utmost respect for the work at CDP that you do. I had a couple of my guys go down there a few years ago. They brought me back a very cool shirt.
Keep up the good work.
Hi Jessica, thanks for the freinds request, I,m just getting started with this and try to see if I can learn any more, don't do much with hazmet . Need to know more about it with the trucks that go throuh our twp
Thanks... I love getting dressed up as Smokey. If I don't dress up as Smokey I drive the kids around on our 1947 Ford fire truck we have set up just for that.
Thanks very much. Getting to study at the CDP as well as at Emmitsburg would be a dream come true. Now I can say I know someone on the INSIDE. I hope you will stay safe and have a very Merry Christmas.
Hey, how's it going? Thanks for the add! It's always nice to see other Alabama folk on here (I'm from Clay County myself). I enjoyed looking at the photos in your slide show, if I ever find the time I would really enjoy taking some classes at the CDP.
I'll be sure and do that! do y'all have a website?
Haha and we ain't got the first lick of snow, just a crapload of ice (I believe "crapload" is the scientific unit of measurement when it comes to ice haha). Did y'all get a lot of snow there in Calhoun county?
Thanks for the link, Jessica! I'll be checking into that for sure.
I'm awful glad that all the ice is finally gone, the Good Lord didn't build me for cold weather haha (and I define cold weather being >*50F lol). Probably felt good to be able to get back to work! I hate being idle as well, it's nice for a day or two, but I enjoy being busy to much to stay cooped up..
