Born and raised on a dairy farm. I rode bulls from 10 yrs old till 21yrs old. I was a Bullfighter.... "Rodeo Clown" From age 15 until age 38, at a Professional level. I joined our local dept when I was 30 Yrs old till the present.
I am sorry to here you will not attend this year. But nothing like fire school.lol The motorcycle ride is the best. I am usually at one of the pumpers waving you all on. When they say thunder they are not kidding, it is an amazing experience. One of these days I will be on the motorcycle. lol. Norm is awsome isn't he. He is an amazing man. Funny too. you should see him at state chiefs (which is coming up next month) Great time. Stay safe and God Bless. Amy
Bull, I have always wondered what it would be like to ride bulls. I probably a little old for that now. Sounds exciting though. Luckily I have firefighting to keep my adrenaline going. How are things in Wisconsin. My wife and I used to live in Shafer, Minnesota; don't know how close that is to you, but it was a town of less than 400, now we live near a town of 1200 with a department of 35 guys. Unfortunately, only about 10 of us show up regularly. I guess it's pretty much the same everywhere in that regard. Stay safe!
Yep, it's been a very wet year here in Iowa. We just had another storm last night. The winter was crazy for our area. Snow, wind, rain, ice, cold, so much more than normal. I missed several days of work because our road was drifted over; the first time we have had those problems since we moved here in 2005, I hope it's not a trend. Then for the spring the precipitation just kept coming and it hasn't let up. Our farm sits up high, but there has been a lot of flooding around us. I work in Iowa City, about 30 minutes away, and a lot of farm land between here and there continues to flood. The two rivers I cross to get to work were way up again today. It's nuts!
There is no such thing as too old.......haha!!! I'm just mess'n with ya! Yeah I know the feeling of non-stop action. As far as whats new....nothing here just work, work, work, all day long..........catch ya later! Have fun, Be safe.....
Things are going good up-North here. not a lot of action which is a good thing because as you said this time of year seems to be busy with everything else. Fall just arround the corner? I woke up this morning to 43 degrees and though I had slept through a couple months or something. I suppose the first day of fall is only 6 weeks away.

We have a meeting on Wed...if we don't have a call before that...but I'll see you Monday...I just got a job at Cramer's...promise I won't spit in your food unless you ask nice!!!! LMAO!!!
Oh my most favorite "customer"....(LOL!!) I gotta go to the FD....we just discussed about 5 or 6 different grants....I think that they found them on Chief.com....everything from Federal to local listed on there....from small dollar to large. Shoot...we spent about an hour discussing nothing but grants and what we wnated to go for. By the way...I missed you while I was out of state...I'm back to work on Saturday!!!!
I just read your post "Looking for Input" that you posted last March. I was going to reply
to it but luckly I came across my reply from last year before I did. It has been almost
a year has your dept. decided on what they are going to get? If you get bored and have
time let me know. Thanks.
Bull,
In Feb. we typed at each other about your company trying to purchase a tanker. Have you had any luck yet?
The one company (Upper Augusta VFC) wants to get a new and can't get a grant. But they want a pumper/tanker with all the bells. They found out that they could not do it without a grant. Now they are talking about getting a plain Jane (less than $200,000) in about 2 to 3 years.
Well if you get a chance let me know.
Have a Happy New Year and stay safe.
