HPL should stay far, far, away from anything with vines or leafy greenery!!
Definitely need to do some ganging up to keep these guys on their toes (the very, very, tippy tip of them too!!). Come join us in the "Back Room Crew". Chief France is our fearless leader (and I mean that with all my heart - he deals with me every day on here!!) who makes pots of coffee first thing in the morning ... whatta guy!!
I'm about 45 minutes south of Edinboro, still well within the reaches of The Lake Erie Snow Machine. I've been there a few times though, had a couple friends who went to college there.

No kidding lol. Ain't it funny how those things work out? Yes ma'am, I try to p[oke my face in here every now and again. Stay safe out there, talk at ya later.
Thanks Heather. Very nice to meet you also. Looking forward to many intersting discussions with new founded friends. Will be adding more of my handiwork on the photography side of things.
Thanks Heather, Loved hearing about how being a Firefighter is in the gene's of the family. It's always nice to hear about retired firefighters storys. Nice meetin you and hope you have a great day!
Heather, your right...I was harsh, Needed to be!. CISD is a good resources but what she needs is to get out of the fire service and move on!! If you work or vollie in a small town chances are that 90% of the people you are going to serve is known to you. It is not and can not be used as an excuse to sit and cry. That entire post shows nothing more then why kids shouldnt be allowed to ride the fire companies. Nice of you to spend the time and guide her thru the CISD team...but in the long run maybe my post makes her see its not for her, No shame in calling it a day....it might save her life.
Heather
Shes having stress at home...who isnt? Im not going to sugarcoat anything, dont care what stress she is having at home. If the stress at home is that bad, she is unfit for duty and should not be responding to calls. She is 18, she is new to this, and her reaction is not normal....sitting and crying on the truck before even getting out is not normal and regardless of her stress at home this can not be tolerated! This Minor MVA....which she admtted had zero injury...is an indication she is not of mental toughness to do this job. She will crack when the crap hits the fan putting people at risk. CISD is not what she needs, for her stress is not job related but home related. What she needs is a good mental heath provider, and until she is of sound mind she should be removed from the company. I have had members of my company go off on stress, no shame in it. As for sme depts not allowing you to respond if you know the poeple?? Thats crazy and i highly doubt that! People on this forum will live in towns with 500 people in them, they have lived in that town there entire lives and know everyone....are they not to respond? Like i said, the tone drops...you go! You suck it up while there, and when you return you go cry all you want. She let the team..her company...down! Thats the bottom line, she failed!
Thats the dangers of working where you live, chances are you are going to answer calls to people you know. Going to the scene and being excused when proper staff is there to relieve you is a little bit different, then not responding at all. No one liked pedi calls....does that mean we dont have to go to them? She may ot have liked it, but nothing i said was wrong. I dont sugarcoat issues that could hurt other firemen. Rough?? Yes....I will not say it wasent. Did she like hearing it? No! Life is tough, reality bites.....she just got bit!
Hi Heather!!! Still shit disturbin in here I see!!! Hope all is well with you.We are getting bundled up for the cold stuff here.We haven't got snow yet but an hour up the road has got 6 ft. in two days and are expecting another ft. tonight. but then again you probably have no idea what I'm talkin about when I say snow do ya?!
Yeah theres really a town named Kermit.lol theres also one named Crum thats pretty close by us as well.I live out in BFE if ya know what I mean the Boondocks.lol any way feel free to holler at me any time.
Thanks Heather. I think everyone I've "met" on here is great. Nice to have a place to go where we all have something in common and can talk about the goings on, build friendships with fellow FF's and EMT's.
Great place, I'm finding I'm spending just as much time on FFN as I do on Facebook...lol Uh oh, I'm in trouble now..lol
Yeah there isn't anything wrong with BFE are they?lol We get quite a bit of action though for such a small town.I'm getting ready to take my class to be a first responder.I'm finally old enough to be put on our drivers list too.You have to be atleast 25 to drive our trucks so I'm excited about that.lol
