Why I Joined Fire/EMS: My mom had been it for as long as I can remember. I grew up around it and fell in love with it. As soon as I could I joined!
Why I Love Fire/EMS: I LOVE IT its hard to explain I just can't imagine not doing it.

OK, then it is home to you. I was just taking a little time here and reading your blog. You seem very mature for your age. I am impressed. Any of us who have done this for any amount of time have had the same feelings you had when you were talking about the 6 yo boy that was lost. There are times when you tend to get a little calused and wonder what you really do feel. But, we have to be able to be that way if we are going to do our jobs effectively when called upon. That does not mean that we don't shed a tear back at home, or have trouble sleeping.
I hope things are going better for you at the FD. They make be treating you that way some, but about all new rookies get treated something like that.
I tell you what, if you are ever in my area of Indiana I will take you one my FD in a heartbeat. Good Luck
