    Welcome from Upstate New York. Do not even think about it , Just do the EMT. You will be glad you did. I have been an EMT since 1985 and still going strong. Maybe just a bit slower than before but going on.

    your superior vena cava is on the right side of your heart, if you lay a patient on the right side the rest of the organs put stress on this part of the heart and restricts bloodflow. By putting the patient on the left side it leaves the vena cava stress free. Hope that helps
