I moved to New York almost 2 years ago- Starting my lifelong dream. My dream is to become a Rescue Medic. I'm an EMT who is currently on the FDNY waiting list (should be in the July academy), looking for a volley house on Long Island, and studying to become a Fire Fighter/Paramedic. I am also attending nursing school.
Relationship Status:
Single
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I am calm, cool, collected, not grossed or freaked out, with no real fears. It would almost be selfish not to. The job's always something I have been so passionate about. Even if things are grim, I will always have a hand to be held if nothing else can be done. I didn't choose this job.... it's just in me... It's who I am.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Just being there for people when they are scared... Knowing that when you left; grandkids still had their grandma, parents still had their child, a family still had their dog, photos and such weren't all but lost because you got there in enough time.
that sounds about right... I worked over in that area last night for the super bowl... But normally my house Is by woodhull hospital...216/108....are u going into the fdny fire or ems academy?
Hi Christina,
Good luck with the FDNY. I am a volley right in the middle of them. We are one of ten of the last volunteer comps. in NY.
They are a great bunch of guys
How's life way up in New York? It's not got to good old fashioned hot weather temps down here yet, but I'm hoping soon. I tend to love the heat much better than cold. Go figure with our job. LOL.
Check out the some of the Groups, I have started up "Close Calls" an area to tell your story of what you did and should not of so others learn. "Roll Calls" this is another group that allows you to tell us about your station and district. "Trainers Corner" is another area that you can read about issues other trainers have or deal with. As well if your not a trainer you can ask questions or state concerns you have. If you have a hard time locating them just go to my site and look at the bottom left hand corner.
thanks for adding me stay safe and good luck with full filling ur dreams in the future!!! u seem to know what u want and what u need to do to achieve your goal just push and u will make just fine!!!

Hey, Just wondered how your, I guess you could say experience, was getting onto the FDNY waiting list? I am just starting as a volunteer in my town but have been around the business since I was a kid as my dad has been a volunteer since then. I am working hard to go paid and would love to go to FDNY. You sound like a pretty cool chick. Maybe we can chat sometime. Thanks from a brother!
