About Me:
I guess it all started when i was born into a firefighting family... when i turned 13, i got started to work for the family bussiness of Public Safety Learning Concepts, teaching kids and their parents fire prevention, and teaching them how to use 911. When i turned 16, i got started being a firefighter (as a Trainee) in the Scranton Fire Co. And now it's TRAINING, TRAINING, TRAINING!...
Day Job:
Town B & G
Relationship Status:
Single
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I wanted to serve my community in a way that most don't. I also come from a short line of firefighters, so I guess it's in my blood. I just loved the comradely of the firefighters ever since my father took me to the fire courses he was teaching locally way back in the mid-90’s. And with him being a paid and volunteer fireman and being an SFI for over 15 years, it was natural for me to be a firefighter. Not to mention "Backdraft" and "Emergency!".
Why I Love Fire/EMS
The feeling of doing good for the people around you.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
EGO, EGO, EGO!!!!! And finally, Training, Training, Training, the lack there of...

Thanks Tom. Hope to continue to work with you guys. Thanks for the stand - bye the other night, while we were up on Shero Road ( involved structure fire)
It is the Fire Companys. It was the engine that the city had assigned to our fire hall the dept is a combination dept. (Paid/Volunteer). It is a 1955 cab over, double clutch is needed to shift. 1000 GPM rated pump, although we keep it dry . It is used mostly/alwasy/only as a parade truck now. It is neat to drive. In the 50's 1000 GPM rated pumps were quite the thing, when at the time it was mostly 500 or maybe 750 GPM's. It was destined for FDNY but out city got it. I am not real clear on the how or why, but the older guys (careful) know the story better than I. Just put a new tranny and clutch in and I am having a hard time adjusting to the tightness of shifting. We put it away to sleep for the winter time. drain some fliuids , take the battery out, etc. it really is tempermental and fragile.
