About Me:
I work for the Kansas State Firefighters Association on their SAFER grant. I used to work for American Heart Association and one of my big projects was to work with fire departments to raise awareness of their #1 killer.....cardio vascular disease. We need to reduce the numbers!!! I'm very passionate about this an work very hard at trying to get the awareness out and trying to help different departments in any way that I can to help them.

I am very fortunate to have a boyfriend who understands my job and we are very blessed that we both support each other in our professions. He is my hero and I can't imagine not being able to do what we do.....together!
Day Job:
KSFFA & Emergency Management
Relationship Status:

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
My boyfriend is a 20+ career firefighter - I work with fire departments around our county/state to try & get them heart healthy through the AHA.... We are both dedicated to his career and to what I do through the Kansas State Firefighters Association
Why I Love Fire/EMS
There are truly caring people in this profession. What better reason is there than that?
Top Issues Facing Responders:
lack of funding in so many areas.....proper equipment, proper training, health & wellness benefits. Their budget is always the first to cut, and the public doesn't understand why things happen the way they do.

I'm in one of your videos....and I was wondering where you got the video from (or if you made the video, where you got the picture from). Please e-mail me, or send me a message. Thanks!

    Great videos by the way!
  • Brian K

    Thanks for the welcome :o)

Hey hey! If you watch the 5-star rated video you have (shows a building majorly on fire as the preview image), at about 57-59 seconds there's a guy putting on an airpack with someone behind him helping to put it on. It's a Scott air pack. The guy in the turnout gear is me! Didn't know if you put the video together or someone else did, was just wondering where the picture came from cause it's not on our dept website. It was in the newspaper the next day, but thats it. Since then it has gone into the archives of the newspaper.

Thanx, the picture stems from the Irish background of my fire company and my total wish to play the bagpipes.

Thanks for the note. I'll be going to the Federation of Fire Chaplains conference this year instead of the NFA. It's in Rhode Island in October. New England in the fall sounds good to me.

Thanks for the comment but I have no idea what I commented to on the 16th! :) I searched to see what it was you were commenting on and I have no idea. I was probably delusional, so I wouldn't take it too seriously.

    No, seriously, thanks.
