Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Alright...I have finally got to update this section!!! To start this whole thing out being a firefighter is a passion I have had since I was young. My uncle was a firefighter and it is just something I fell in love with. I ended up moving out of a bad community in Illinois and up to the dairy state! This community really build me up to be the person I am today and what is a better way to give back than serve your community and be passionate about what you do at the same time?
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Serving my community is what I do best.Who does not like all the action?
Top Issues Facing Responders:
I have come to learn that the community we serve does not take what we do seriously. Which, if you actually think about it presents a ton of issues!!

I am doing good. How have you been? Are you enjoying this cold weather? I thought we would have been much busier Monday night with that snow we got!!!
  • Mark Meyers

The snow was not too bad. I was off for most of it but I had to drive through some of it to work yesterday morning. It sounds like the next few days could be interesting with the storms they are calling for!!! Maybe give us a little business on the Interstate. I will add some pics soon. I just haven't taken the time to add them yet.

Hi Rae Ann, I just joined the Army Firefighter group and seen your post. Active duty Army firefighter was not offered 21 years ago when I first enlisted either. I did spend some time as a recruiter, 7 years ago, it may have changed but at that time firefighting was offered as a job skill in the Army Reserves. May be an option that is available to you. Stay safe and good luck.
  • Jeff Taormina

Hey "Sister" thanx for the note.
It's good to see the Brother/Sisterhood is alive and well!
What a great family the fire service is!
    Stay safe!!
  • Bill Claus

Best of luck to you as you search out your Army career. Just make sure you research everything you are told before you sign anything.
