Why I Joined Fire/EMS
My entire family is involved in the Fire Department and I joined as soon as I was old enough to become a junior firefighter. I have a lot of fun gaining experience and learning everything in all the classes I've taken so far - the fire department is a huge part of my life and I couldn't imagine not being involved.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
the adrenaline rush and a job well done.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
People who don't appreciate enough. It doesn't matter what race or sex you are, or whether you're volunteer or career. Everyone involved risks their asses to save someone else's, and should ALL be appreciated.

Yeah myself and two other guys on our dept are RIT trained and we are the only one in the county to have a RIT team so when department in our county get called out for structure fires we are aotumatically paged out to stand by at the scene. And yeah women would be nice to have on the dept but none ever wanna join.

  • Austin Glasser

Just wanted to let you know I'll be in Mckownville Friday testing fire hose, because thats my job lol. Where makeing are rounds through the Guilderland area, we just tested Fort Hunter FD and Westmere FD and it looks like Mckownville is next on the schedule.
  • Austin Glasser

We tested Mckownvilles hoses today and I was suprized to see they did not have any 5" supply lines. So that made the day a whole lot easyer. I really liked the old trucks (E-55, E-57).

Hi Sara, I joined this group to share our incredible wellness story with everyone. I helped my husband get well (and saved his life) and I got healthier, also. Many of our men and many of us need to get healthier. If you’re interested in more information about this life changing program please send me an email at: wellness2390@aol.com Thanks, Jan
