No problem Mark. I lived in Hawthorne for a bit myself before coming out here to Pa. Best thing I ever did. I still have three sister living there in Hawthorne though, so I'm back there very often. Don
Of course I know Tom.. who doesnt?? lol. He was one of my trainers when i first got hired as a dispatcher and lived across from him when he lived in town. His son Brian is my Sgt. at work. I guess your not with Barnegat anymore? My family has a house near Jenny Lane. Stay safe!
Whassup man? How are you? I just joined the FOOLS group. I am a member of the Crystal Coast FOOLS in Carteret County, North Carolina. We are based out of Morehead City, NC. Keep in touch, brother. Give me a shout. Later.

Actually, no shit we had a woman pull up in front of the station during a work detail, and asked us where Bennington was, we told her she was in it, she said "Vermont?" It not nice to laugh at the public, but somtimes it can be helped.....
Well we were the ones, won 5 times overall(95-99 & 2000), but not so much anymore. Now just going down for a good time and good friends. At least they started some hands- on training this year.
Hey brother i'm headded to South Carolina for the week but i'll be back on the 31st and i will get back to you on that if your interested it's not a bad gig but like everything else it has it's moments.
I noticed your question on Scott's (Lt. Kirsch) page, We train once a year at the speedway usually in Dec. The race season starts in January for the Rollex race and then goes from there. The pitroad firefighters (what I do) job is to protect the crew and equipment at all times. There is fuel in each pit and constant movement of fuel tanks. We have to be ready at all times and at the wall during pit stops. Any fuel spills have to be cleaned up and reported. It is a cool gig like Lt. Kirsch said but it is also work we have to be fully bunkered out during the entire race ready to go. The Rolex race is about 30 hours in bunker gear with a short 2-4 hour break. Good talking to ya and see you at the races.
I believe the application process is done once a year around training time. I will find out for you and see if they are doing any hiring right now. Requirements are Firefighter II and EMT minimum.
