you appear to be someone who knows how to have fun... I really liked the presentation of photos that look like poloroid shots. where did you get this widget or whatever it's called. I'd like to put this on my page. my wife was a 911 dispatcher for almost 20 years until one of the AMR medics gave her a hard time because she was "just a dispatcher..." What an a--shole... The good news was that she went back to school and became an ER RN. How cool when this idiot came into the ER and left himself wideopen for my wife to tell him, your just a paramedic... It sure felt good for her. Paybacks feel extra sweet sometimes! my best, Mike from Santa Barbara
Hello from Hurricane Central (sigh)! 2 in 2 weeks (Gustav and Ike). I love my job (chuckle)!!! I will be deployed here for at least another 2 weeks. At least its good money!
I was trying to figure out what being a legend was until I put two and two together. Looks like I have a bunch of points. My goal here on the FFN is to help folks out with hazmat and prevention stuff, two things that I know a lot about. I'm researching my second hazmat scenario and will be posting it soon, more than likely focusing on flammable and explosive limits, LEL, UEL and stuff like that to help everyone understand how to make a decision that won't get you fried when working with flammable hazmats. My wife's new nurse job as a school nurse has proven to be a wonderful experience for her. Good luck in your nursing school endeavors! Take care Debbie. Mike from SB
Hey Debbie---Charlie is Chief again, and Merry is MedCo-ordinator at the dept. What is your dispatch partners name?? I grew up knowing most of the family, I went to school with Charlie's sister Sue, and my Sister went to school with Linda. Our families used to camp together also. So the Fire family is a very close one, and its such a small world. Good Luck on your EMT-B class--its a tough one, and i have to admit, i'm chicken to take it. I'm happy being an MRT and a cert. driver. LOL. Have a great weekend and a quiet one. Stay Safe out there.
Debbie, love the posts you left on the Tats in the frie service forum. I think your beautiful with or without them. And if someone can't see through the ink, they should look for another job.
Thats awesome---have you convinced her to join us here on Firefighter Nation?? I'm surprised that Charlie and Merry haven't said anything about it. Getchen's grandfather is in the Picture also. I have known him since i was a little boy. LOL Long time ago. Take care and have a safe weekend.
I had a good laugh when I saw your screen name. I used to work for Little Debbie - on the line, in production support, and doing industrial fire prevention, firefighting, and EMS.
I got out of that place and into public-sector fire/EMS as fast as I could.
I went home smelling like Little Debbies 5 or 6 days a week for six years.
