Just found this site, So far it looks good. Hope to share info, display photos from my site ( www.nlcfirephotos.blogspot.com ) and many other items.
  • Tom Arnold

Cool. I was wondering if some of these came from (or as it turns out, went to) The Day. That's a good paper. I've done some work for them (in other career).

    Nice pictures.

I'm just starting to get pictures from guys in our department and I'm using Picasa web albums (Google) right now to upload and share them. We'll see how it works out.
  • Randy Macey

  • Randy Macey

Check out Roll Call Forum and put some info about your Fire House in... Like to hear what your station is like, what you have as well as for number for firefighters as well as number of calls. Pass it around to your Firefighter Friends too....

Hey Rob whats up back east? lots has changed since last time I was up your way, many of my ties to the "hood" are gone.. and casino's aren't my forte' lol anyway ... thanks 4 the add,
  • SMOKEnPipesJim

I tryed quickly to find the blurp on the day site, getting cross eyed so I gave up..lol I haven't done the Norwich Mass in a few years But Had thought That I really should try to get back to/for it ... If igo this year it'll bein blue for a change I've really lost track of a lot of doings Guessall that early life transiancy of my younger days has caught up with me..lol I'm living in Milford these days with hopes that would getme home a bit more (hasnt worked yet.... gas prices have made for a good excuse, but to be honest I need some time in south county or maybe the block sorta cleanse the soul a bit.. I have popped in a few times to your site, from time to time along with a few others I frequent. www.firegroundimages.com Is a dude from My job who lives in Shelton so he hits the local stuff, but has a buddy from Cranston or Warwick, They have been traveling and co published they're first book recently I've bbeen building my own lil corner ofthe WWW as well, trying to document the growth of Fire service Pipe bands which grew into a Forum for better interactivity its been slow going yetIts SOO close.. it seems to be like dead in the water at times and then we have bands listed that are a month old in many areas of the country... or with LODD announcements we have been ahead of the typical media... I'd hoped doing this would help me to getback into the whole thing, but thenithasnt yet, just been keeping me busy...lol It is nice to knowin any case That I was the first Firefighting Piper From NL cty :)
  • SuzyQ

yep, getting ready for snowboarding, but summer was not long enough. I'm a warm weather girl and sad that the heat is coming to an end.
  • Randy Macey

Submarine Base Fire Department sounds cool...
Although if your Subs are in the water, you just need to pump... But I know if I ask to many questions, you might have to kill me... Very cool!
    Mace
  • Randy Macey

Now that is to funny, never thought of that before. Pull the plug! Yes you must face a lot of different things on the base. Interesting....

Hey Rob, I drive on 395 to and from FEMA. Don't take this the wrong way but, I hope I never have to meet you in a professional capacity Stay safe
  • Anita

I know, I thought it was bad in Mass. but they ARE crazier in CT (but I still have to stop at Tim Hortons in Norwich whenever I go by!)
  • Meri

I'm in Locust Valley FD (Long Island, NY). We are pretty far from Mattituck, don't venture out there. You guys came from pretty far away for the parade!
  • SuzyQ

Yep, almost time to pull out the snowboard.

  • Mechanics2Capt

    Hey BoB
check out the hello all in DOD, that is what is wrong with the system and why we now have a chief in Mid Lant like we do.
  • Mechanics2Capt

He even looks like the chief
  • Anita

Hey Rob, made it outta Tim Horton's on crash alley Sat w/o needing your services!
  • Anita

I was just voted into Chester Hose as a Fire Fighter, but I haven't been through FF1 yet. I have been an EMT on the Ambulance for 8 years. I'm finished here in New Hampshire tomorrow. I'll be back at the fire house by next week. Can't wait to get home. I've been deployed in NH/ME since May 1st!
  • Irons38

Guess who is coming back Friday!!!!!!
  • Anita

Yes the storm we had here April 15th was huge in Maine & New Hampshire from the 16th-23rd. Their ground was frozen and culverts blocked with snow so lots of flood damage. The pressure was equal to a Cat 2 hurricane, lots of wave damage on the coast.
You can see the beach in ME in the backgrounf of my photo. Tough job, but somebodies got to do it!
  • Jen

  • Anita

If it's the one I'm thinking of it was an electrical fire under a mobile home nothing big. Killingworth right?

  • Jennifer

hi I'm ready for the storm. How are things in Yantic/Norwich? I used to live in Groton and miss it deeply =(
  • Anita

Hey Rob, Good to hear from you. I am in Oklahoma City now for the ice storm they had just before Christmas, I should be here a couple of more weeks. I miss Tim Hortons, none hear, no Dunkin Donuts, just cowboys & steaks! Heard you were getting a big snow storm last night. Hope it was quiet on crash alley. We had a big fire on New Years Eve in the snow sleet & rain. Started 22:30, was put out and restarted 6 times. Had 5 mutual aid towns, it was 8:30 in the morning before it was out. The guy put wet wood on top of his woodstove to dry. It was one of those houses that had paths through the papers on the floor to get from room to room. The owner, a lawyer, didn't want FF to use water because he had important papers he didn't want to get wet!
Stay safe out there, and have a silk bar at Tim's.
