Why I Joined Fire/EMS
My uncle was chief of our local VFD. I have been around emergency services as long as I can remember.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Somebody has to make a difference, or @ least try. I've been around a volley department literally all my life. Its different being one of the "old guys" these days.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
recruitment & retention, FUNDING, training, diverse calls, being prepared for things that don't happen here.

    In case you have not guessed it... I work at a fire station that serves over 50 miles of coastline along the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Barbara Channel Islands. I always have my camera with me... Hope you like my pix. : )

    To answer your question about why i have to ask other firefighters how to act -
    Because I have gotten so many diff responses on this. Some FF's that kno the guy say he can't take a joke. While others say it was close to crossin the line. Its called getting OTHERS OPINIONS, so don't bitch me for asking.

    the only way we get around OSHA standards is were not an OSHA state, and with the whole NFPA were told that "were all safety officers watchin out for each others safety" which yes i know is true....... but when we are all busy we tend to miss things i know i have missed plenty, but there is just a whole lot of b/s floating around, but i guess i was just blowing off steam i don't ever expect anyone to read that but all input is good input
