Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I became an EMT - B, because I always wanted to work in Emergency medicine. THEN...when I moved to a department that had the FF/EMS combined I had to decide if I wanted to be a Firefighter or not. After the first LIVE BURN I went to - I was HOOKED. Now, I have Ropes 1,2 and 3, Swift water, Wildland and Hazmat under my belt - I have SO much yet to learn, but I'm loving every minute of it!
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I love being able to help people and training side by side with my fellow Firefighters.

Hi DnKsMom, Nice flooding pics! We had some of that around here but nothing like what your pics show. Floods suck! Glad you came to the light side and are a firefighter too. You sound pretty busy with all the EMS training and testing so I bet you have tremendous time management skills. Good luck with paramedic school. I did that back when I rode my dinosaur to school. Well, OK it wasn't that long ago (1985) but it feels like a lifetime. Stay safe and keep posting the cool pics. Just get some showing your face so we can pic you out.

How are things in Sooner land? Quiet as can be here in Ohio. However I am working on the ambulance from 8pm Friday until 8am Sunday and am expecting not to get a whole lot of rest or sleep. Have a safe and good holiday weekend.
  • Donald Canterbury

Tired. Long weekend this past weekend on the ambulance and like I said it doesn't look any better for this one coming up. As far as for my fire dept., quiet as can be. When it gets this way, we know that all hell will break loose soon. Probably while I'm working this weekend.
  • FIREHIKER

    Thank YOU for the add...
Things are pretty warm here...between 97 and 101 last week, and we'd be getting the same grass fires, but I guess most burned off several months ago. A friend texted me and told me a house was lost about 3 miles north of me and a mile south of her...I have a feeling the 4th is going to bring quite a few firework fires...
    Thanks again for the add...
    Take care and stay safe...
