I love sports, especially field hockey and lacrosse. They both basically take over my life, and the other half is taken over by firefighting. The fire company is family to me, and I can't imagine my life without it.
Yes I can see both sides to that story, I know that some of the stations around us have gone with a full time day crew. And you can see the difference from those that where Vol. to Paid. We all must remember that we all do the same job. I'm a Vol. till the pager goes off then I'm a Firefighter.... Other than that how goes the summer there?
It does not matter if it's pay or vol. I look at one thing which puts us all on the same playing field.
Once that pager goes off, we are no longer Vol. or Paid, we are firefighters. Do the same job, in both there are idiots and ones we look at what are you doing here....
I think that's the way it should be, once the tones go off. Same playing field, all work together. I find once you get to know each other the walls go down pretty fast. If you can't beat them, might as well join them....
Check out Roll Call Forum and put some info about your Fire House in... Like to hear what your station is like, what you have as well as for number for firefighters as well as number of calls. Pass it around to your Firefighter Friends too....
yea it did it when i was in high school too...except we had to run past the trucks and i couldnt even get credit for the call (even though i was basically first on the scene haha)
y is 7-5 even at the sub station? umm and outta there u r gonna be getting on first truck most likely...just ask the officer...i always rode first truck
u r not gonna survive long if u dont like getting ur hands dirty...u r a JUNIOR...this means u get the crap jobs and earn the respect of everyone else...esp since u r a girl u will have to show them that u can do whatever they can, maybe even do it better...same goes for FFI and im not kidding...remember that i've been through it for four years
actually i found my pager in my bag so it's here with me...yea i made it and we will see about starters but i made it through the three mile but not under 25 mins...it'll get better...i made the sprints (except the 6 second 50 yd) so im pretty happy...congrats on the game
yea well we've been doing some running but we r trying to get used to the 9 freshmen we brought onto the team...so i have no idea if we will be good or not but i guess we will see on saturday. good luck with the last week of preseason and have fun once school starts back up
Hope you are keeping your head held high. You are young enough to pick up the foundation that Ray layed, and carry on as he would expect you. Stay Safe. This is the Firefighter Nation, where we all Go Home Safe
whats up be careful out in this dangerous world keep up the good work in school may god continue to blees you at what you are doing for your community may god blessyour family and you .
Damn you guys seem busy. A couple days ago we had two structure fires a car wreck and a grass fire that was a pretty busy day. The car wreck and the grass fire happened at the same time so we had like three trucks out all at once. But other than that im like you trying to keep up with everything else.
aww you missed out we had a structure fire a couple days ago it was awesome we had two trucks and our neighbooring department had one. It was pretty good we was there for two and a half hrs so that was fun for the day ttyl and be safe
We had our local pizza hut catch on fire it was bad and funny at the same time. It happened at 1:30 in the morning so we got there for a little action then overhaul so it was all right then later that day we had a grass fire and a car wreck so we was pretty busy talk to you later and like always be safe

Does your dad have an account on here? If so what is his screen name. Hope all is well out there. If you or your dad talks to Lee Miller have him look me up on here. Thanks
Yeah we have been pretty busy lately the other day we had a car wreck and a grass fire at the same time. Then we get back to the station and the pager goes off for a structure fire so its been nuts down here i will ttyl be safe
