I dont remember him being there too long, but it was mainly Don Holding. Of course he wasnt there long and then we went through like 10 people! I am now working for SAFD on the Haz Mat team. I cannot deny the enormous amount of experience I gained there. I went on to Code 3 and Boots & Coots after EmTech. Do you know James Murray, he is also SAFD now? Be safe!
You almost worked for me. My hat # was 112. Was with the Western Emergency Services under Denny Day. I opened the Houston office in 1989 left in 1991 went to Aruba and when I came back SA was mine if I wanted it.
Hey Tex! I am a Tech from Rhode Island and I have seen the ethanol business start booming more than ever. Doesn't take much to get a refinery locally. I am wondering if you have any further information and or a copy of the video you could send me for training purposed for my team. Any imput, help and info you send would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
I just watched the video you posted on ethanol fires, i wish more videos on this site were as useful as this one. in missouri state law mandates that all gasoline is at least 10% ethanol. so this will be a problem for many of us in the show me state.thanks and keep up the good work
After watching the video you posted it is clear AR-AFFF is the best at fighting a fire contaiing ethanol. Is it effective enough for us to replace the class B foam we carry now, afff, for all hyrocarbon fires? Due to space and cost, I would like to stock the engines with one type of class B foam and since the most likely class B fire we will face will be a gasoline tanker, it will have at least E-10 in its tanks, therefore I think AR-AFFF should be on the engines. I want to thank you in advance for your time on this
He is actually a district chief now. I am completely confused on how this thing works the questions you asked did not appear on my page?? I will get it down soon.
I still keep in contact with Bobby Bread, Tracy Clark and even Butch Beardsley helped my with a class I was teaching for our Regional Haz Mat team last summer. I got hired at EmTech through Chip Day. I still see Chip ever now and then.
I think your site is one of my favorite sites now. I thought I had access to cool hazmat photos... Your the man! I also thought your Texas Hazmat graphic was exceptionally cool. Let's see, what else... oh yea, anyone who likes the Rolling Stones... years ago, and I mean YEARS AGO, I was visiting my folks in Dallas and while driving on the LBJ freeway, heard the radio announcer put out a call for anyone who has EMS training to call a number to work at the Rolling Stones Concert. I was so there, and backstage to boot! Are you anywhere near Dallas?
I'm also into, very much into hazmat with a specific emphasis on the decontamination procedures used and protecting hospitals. My wife's a nurse... : )
I look forward to having the chance to get to know you and pick your brain!
